Outreach Center is a small business in Lafayette, LA. We are professional, agile and our is mission is to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people experiencing homelessness and poverty in a way that reflects the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.

At our company, we're currently seeking Direct Support Professionals who are passionate about helping individuals live an independent life. As a Direct Support Professional, you'll assist the clients with their daily activities and developing life skills. The right candidate will have an eye for detail, strong communication skills and be able to work independently without a lot of supervision. The position requires a great deal of physical activity, including lifting and moving clients, so we are looking for someone who enjoys staying active and helping people.

Responsibilities:

• Understand the unique needs and characteristics of individuals with disabilities.
• Provide support to individuals with disabilities and their families.
• Create a safe and secure environment for the individuals.
• Make appropriate referrals to other agencies and support institutions.
• Understand the disability rights movement and disability history., be an advocate for individuals with disabilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $12.00 per hour
