The Payments and Card Services Team lead innovation, transformation planning, integrated approach to efficiency, commercialisation and standardisation.

What's the role

The SWIFT & GPP Support Team provides first line support for SWIFT, the Global Pay Plus engines and SafeWatch Filtering solutions for Bank of Ireland. We manage the Rules Configuration and provide Business Support to operational areas to assist with continuous improvement and streamlining of processes across the Business.

This role will require some participation in out-of-hours activities to support weekend change delivery and participation in an On Call rota to provide emergency cover where required. The successful candidate will be required to undertake SWIFT-specific Training as part of this role. Due to the critical nature of the systems involved, this role is primarily office-based.

Key Accountabilities

  • Operate the Email Mailbox to provide excellent customer service to our Internal Customers
  • Update systems with Static Changes on request
  • Incident Management
  • Management of Small Change Requests; from solution to testing and delivery
  • Manage UAM for SafeWatch and SWIFT systems
  • Provide SME support to the Business and IT for ongoing Change Programmes

This job can be done anywhere in Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin to which travel will be required for in person collaboration. Exact frequency to be agreed with manager.

Essential Qualifications

  • Leaving Certificate - minimum of 5 passes (grade D or above) at Ordinary Level, which must include English and Maths, or equivalent or superseding qualification

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong numerical, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proven experience of working with Excel, Visual Basic, or Databases
  • Problem identification and remediation focussed
  • Good clear communicator
  • Ability to operate under pressure
  • A structured and organized approach to work
  • Good at taking ownership of tasks/issues and treating these to completion
  • Ability to build productive working relationships with others
  • Open attitude to change
  • Strong approach to Risk and Controls
  • Experience of Payments or Financial Messaging
  • Knowledge of Business Analytics

Desirable Qualifications Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of Fetac Level 7 Ordinary degree in Banking Operations or equivalent additional experience
