Our new state of the art development center in Austin, Texas is the home for our next generation technical solutions. Engineers will develop flight and mission-critical systems for more than 170 commercial and military customers. You will have the opportunity to help design and develop the next generation: Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls, Aircraft Engine Controls, Ground Vehicle Power Management Systems, Aircraft Electrification Systems, Advanced Air Mobility Systems, Autonomous Flight Systems, Flight Deck Systems, Cabin Management Systems, Weapon Control Systems, and Mission Systems for the world's most prominent commercial and military aircraft and vehicle manufacturers.

Typical duties include (based on experience):
- Design and implement complex system solutions.
- Participate in or lead system and product requirements analysis, architecture, design, integration, verification and validation.
- Perform and participate in modeling, simulation, and analysis with emphasis on model-based Systems Engineering
- Provide subject matter expertise in one or more relevant domain and/or technology areas (ex: Flight Controls, Engine Controls or Aircraft Electrification)
- Lead and mentor a team of systems engineer involved in development of a system, product, capability, or proposal.
- Translate business needs and customer requirements into technical solutions.
- Define functional work splits and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for major Mechanical, Hardware (HW), Software (SW) & FPGA components interfacing and coordinating with subject matter experts in each area.
- Perform component level, system level, and platform level integration and verification activities.
- Prepare and deliver customer and technical presentations.
- Interface with project and business leadership, customers, and suppliers
This role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work and will take the form of a hybrid work schedule, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Skills and Education:
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent resident.
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering such as: Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical field.
- 6+ years of relevant Systems Engineering experience in designing, architecting, and integrating electronic control systems which include hardware, software, and programmable logic devices.
- Experience in avionics or electronic controls embedded development, including familiarity with systems such as flight controls, engine controls or mission systems.
- Experience with requirements development and derivation, specifications, and interface control documents.
- Experience with transitioning hardware designs to full production programs.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with customer project and technical community.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to generate, understand and review user requirements using tools such as DOORS.
- Experience in performing analyses and trade studies for affordability, reliability, safety, security, maintainability, testability, etc.
- Experience in providing input to project schedules and budgets through regular progress reports.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Skills and Education:
- Master’s Degree in an engineering field such as Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Software Engineering
- Experience in a variety of areas of product lifecycle development including system requirements, design, integration, validation, and verification
- Familiarity with safety critical development including ARP4754, DO-178B/C and DO-254 or equivalent stringent process requirements
- Multi-Disciplinary technical base including development of and/or exposure to the areas of: Digital Electronics, Analog Electronics, Power Electronics, Energy management, Embedded Software in C or C++, Embedded FPGA Development in Verilog or VHDL.
- Experience in a Safety Critical or Functional Safety Real Time Embedded Electronics Industry such as:
- Aerospace, Military, Medical, Automotive, Industrial / Energy / Nuclear, Internet of Things (IoT)
- Experience with Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) (e.g. SysML, UML)
- Experience with Control Law Development.
- Experience with Matlab & Simulink.
- Experience with executing projects using Earned Value Management.
- Experience mentoring other engineers.
