The Opportunity
Workhuman is growing at a tremendous rate and is expanding our Architecture group. We are seeking a Systems Architect to work with Product Engineering to help create new product solutions by delivering state-of-the-art cloud-native solutions which will support our customer’s. You will work closely with the Product to translate their business needs into a scalable, performant and reliable architecture. This is an opportunity to join a high performing team responsible for setting the architectural direction for a large, complex and highly successful Product line with Workhuman. The successful candidate will be joining at a transformative time in our product’s evolution as we scale our systems and organisation to meet the demands of a large and rapidly growing user base. You will develop your technical and business skills in this fast-paced environment, experiencing great culture in a rapidly scaling company while using exciting technologies.

We've based the team in Dublin with teammates in the US and Belarus. Our job is to architect the possible for our users, to innovate, to design new services and experiences. Key to the role is a collaboration with our highly innovative Product and Engineering teams to use world class engineering to build Products that delight Customers. In doing so, the candidate will help this great company continue its amazing trajectory.
The value you will deliver

Work closely with Product to translate their business needs into robust architectures.

Evaluate technology solutions options for business initiatives. This will include market analysis and evaluation of buy vs build options.

Working with Principal Engineers to ensure alignment to the planned Architecture.

Providing solution design and architecture expertise throughout implementation for multiple squads across parallel initiatives.

Influence stakeholders, colleagues and peers internally and externally to identify functional and non-functional requirements.

Collaborate with the larger architecture team on cross-product architectural concerns

Support multiple Product Architecture initiatives across multiple Engineering teams.

Create cloud first solutions with Java, spring boot and containerization technologies on AWS with a focus on CI/CD and DevSecOps.
The skills you will bring
-
At least 10 years’ experience working in technology or relevant business
-
You have a BS in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent experience
-
Experienced architecting highly scalable systems to support product functionality for a large geographically spread user base using cloud technologies.

Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences

Significant experience in software development and coding in various languages (Java, Python, C#, etc.)

Significant experience with UML and other modelling methods

In-depth knowledge of software and application design and architecture

Must be comfortable working independently and collaborating within a team environment.

Demonstrable leadership skills, with the ability to influence people and build strong relationships

Possess a continuous improvement mindset; the ability to design new and improve existing processes
