Purpose of the Post

The post holder will work as part of the multitask attendant compliment, provide a leadership role in ensuring work practices are carried out to the required standard in line with current legislation and best practice in relation to Health Information and Quality Authority Hygiene Standards, Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines and Hazard Analysis at Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines for food safety management.

Eligibility Criteria

In line with WRC Agreement (Ref.158293/15) this campaign will be confined to existing staff at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore.

Candidates must have at the latest date of application: -

1. Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc

(a) (i) Possess the relevant QQI Further Education and Training (FET) Level 5 Certificate in Health Service Skills

Or

(ii) FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support

Or

(iii) A relevant Healthcare qualification

And

(b) Have a minimum of 3 years working in healthcare support services

And

(c) Have completed a Level 2 HACCP food hygiene management course.

2. Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

3. Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

Post Specific Requirements

• Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience working in a busy hospital environment which has involved interacting in a professional manner with management and other key internal and external stakeholders.

• Demonstrate depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in relation to HACCP and Infection Prevention and Control requirements in a Hospital environment.
