The Driscoll Health System is looking for a Technical Operations Manager to support our growing operation throughout South Texas. In this role, you’ll be leading a talented technical team on an intricate, modern and highly dynamic infrastructure. General Purpose:
Manage and supervise the daily activities of the server systems, client systems, and epic technical teams including training, coaching, organizing, planning, and staffing operations. Support IT projects and initiatives. Coordinate and complete activities in support of the implementation and enhancement of IT services. Prioritize the workload and scheduling of staff. Maintain data center and asset management. Works with IT department leaders in preparing management reports, standard operating procedures, systems, training documentation, and research and development efforts. Assist in invoice reviews and in resolving vendor issues. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Advise technical leadership in all aspects of automation needs, objectives, and capabilities, including anticipation of future requirements and issues.
  • Provides guidance on, and holds the technical teams accountable for, compliance, policies, procedures, deadlines, and SLAs; exercises judgment and discretion to provide input on service level and improvement plan components.
  • Serves on project teams performing tasks assigned by the Director of Technology. Will be requested to lead and monitor project teams. Routinely provides project updates to appropriate individuals.
  • Establish and maintain system operating procedures, protocols, data security, backup plans, and user permissions. Develop and maintain local technical documentation for administered systems.
  • Work closely with team managers within the IS department to ensure operational integration and efficiency.
  • Consults with hospital staff and IS teams to make recommendations/implement changes that maximize the functionality of assigned systems.
  • Serves as a Coach and resource to the technical services team to assist with issues, problems, design, implementations and upgrades of related systems.
  • Interfaces and works closely with consultants, project managers, and vendor representatives.
  • Assists in the preparation of bid requests in procuring related equipment.
  • Manager the problem resolution process from initial call to resolution. Ensure that the appropriate staff are assigned to resolve issues.
  • Make recommendations and arrangements for any training and/or tools needed for assigned staff.
  • Exercise independent judgment in the planning, scheduling, organizing, controlling and monitoring of the Enterprise Systems.
  • Participates in IS department budgeting and strategic planning.
  • Always maintains utmost level of confidentiality.
  • Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
  • Performs other related work as required.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 5-10 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically has more than 5 - 10 years of professional experience in Information Systems including 5+ years in a technical leadership role.
  • Typically has one or more certifications. Example certifications include, but not limited to: (CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, MCSA, MCSE, Citrix Certified associate, VMware Certified Associate)
  • Related experience in a healthcare environment strongly preferred.
