Job description
Salary: $78,000- $150,000, depending on experience

The Role
As a Red 6 Program Manager for the R&D team, you will be charged with successfully completing key projects, primarily focused on building augmented reality systems for highly demanding customers. In this role, you will work closely with all members of our R&D team as well as with our hardware and software teams to manage upcoming augmented reality product initiatives. You will develop and own program schedules from discovery and design to final release, partnering effectively with multiple technology teams, and managing deliverables for critical milestones. This will involve allocating work, highlighting resource needs, finding efficiency improvements, and communicating timeline changes across the organization including executive staff.
Ultimately, you will spend your time ensuring the delivery of the invention of the world’s first airborne augmented reality systems into military aircraft.
Core Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables; incorporate input from cross-functional team members.
- Create, maintain, and drive project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems. Implement and manage project changes.
- Prepare status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommend actions.
- Act as a facilitator and lead team through stage gates during the development process, while also advocating continuous improvement in quality and the process itself.
- Proactively identify potential issues; apply sound engineering problem-solving techniques to resolve.
- Assist in management of headcount, budget, and purchasing activities.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in technical project management of hardware products. Experience with software projects a plus.
- Experience tracking dates and requirements in a complex environment involving multiple products, platforms, and technologies.
- Experience working with R&D, hardware and systems engineering teams on highly technical projects, and a track record of shipping releases on time.
- High level of comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
- Proficient in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Jira preferred.
- Ability to step outside their comfort zone and wear a multitude of hats as they help throughout the organization.
- BS in technical degree, hardware-related preferred.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of hardware and software development processes and procedures as well as knowledge of the product development life cycle .
- Qualified candidate must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship
Preferred / Additional Skills:
- Prior experience partnering with hardware teams to coordinate software schedules and manage software projects alongside associated hardware development.
- Currently possesses or is working toward PMP or similar certification.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with products with electrical and mechanical hardware components a plus. Experience with optics, sensors, and/or audio systems is also a plus.
- Demonstrated experience developing or deploying applications of interactive, AR, VR or XR
