As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally within the organization to ensure the delivery of ultra long-haul and metro fiber optic infrastructure systems to support the core IP traffic demands which globally interconnect data center and peering facilities to serve Google users. You will manage multiple projects with complexity and scope.

Responsibilities

• Manage optical transport infrastructure and capacity delivery within the EMEA region.
• Manage the delivery of large-scale network projects composed of metro/long-haul systems and fiber, leased wavelengths, circuit adds/moves/changes/disconnects, colo space, power, cross-connects, inside plant fiber, amplifier/ReGen sites from inception through delivery.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple large scale network projects with competing priorities, ensuring stakeholders are aware of project status.
• Lead regular project status meetings and keep downstream teams at Google apprised of project and delivery status. Assist upstream planning, design, and acquisition teams in developing infrastructure requirements, priorities, and delivery date expectations.
• Engage with engineering staff to determine root causes and solutions and present team analyses, recommendations and approaches to stakeholders and executive management.
