Opta’s purpose is to be the leading supplier of performance materials and solutions in the steel, infrastructure, and specialty chemical industries.

Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to assist with the assembly of electrical control panels, junction boxes, and wire harnesses from prints. This position is responsible for the physical assembly, wiring and testing of control panels for industrial equipment. The Technician will fabricate controls to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel, wiring of all components, installation of control panel onto equipment, and testing to ensure proper operation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read and understand blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to understand the requirements of the project
• Select appropriate materials and/or equipment for each fabrication project
• Set up and use machines to cut, shape or form materials
• Complete the wiring of all components of the control panels into equipment
• Test finished product
• Adhere to all safety regulations while working
• Other duties, as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have knowledge and previous experience in a similar position.
• Ability to read prints and drawings
• Attention to detail

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
