Therapist of Art
$60,335.46
Ancora State Psychiatric Hospital is seeking experienced Therapist of Art as a member of the therapeutic treatment team that plans, develops implements and conducts art therapy to provide the opportunity for non-verbal expressions and communication via the various media of art to further self-awareness and personal growth for the individual. This therapy is relevant to the design of positive interventions and supports within a multidisciplinary mental health setting serving a diverse adult population with severe and persistent mental illness.
All applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, with a major course of study in art, art therapy or art education. One (1) year of professional experience in an art therapy program is required. A Master's degree in art therapy or creative arts therapy with a specialization in art therapy may be substituted for the one (1) year of experience. Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey. The work week will be Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
*Preference will be given to applicants with a master’s degree and who have licensure through the LAAT (Licensed Associate Art Therapist) or LPAT (Licensed Professional Art Therapist).
