Trained Medication Aide

Location: Owatonna, MN

Pay: $19.00 per hour with shift differential

Available Shift: 1st Shift 6am to 4pm (10hour shifts) & EOW

2nd Shift 3:00pm-11:30pm & EOW

About You:

  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Interested in being certified as a TMA (Trained Medication Aide)
  • A minimum of one year freedom from chemical abuse problems.

In this Role You Will:

  • Take Vital Signs for 72hr vitals sheet after completing at least 10 supervised vitals
  • Pass medications
  • Assist with counting Narcotic at change of shift
  • Follow Opiate/Alcohol/Benzo Withdrawal Protocol after completing COWS and CIWA training
  • Triage clients concerns to determine they can help client under their scope of practice or they need to connect client with LPN/RN Manager or LADC
  • Assist with Inventory management to ensure nursing doesn’t run low on supplies and client medications
  • Receive medications from pharmacy and checking medication in and giving narcotics to LPN or RN Manager to log into Narcotic Record Book
  • Assist to keep Medication Cart and Nursing Station tidy
  • Scan documents into client’s chart into procentive
  • Monitor Medication Administration Record for holes and missed medications, and notify appropriate people
  • Assist LPN and RN Manager with Admission Process doing the following
    • Print Labels and set up Client nursing Folder
    • Print Client Picture for MAR and Report book
    • Place client on provider schedule to have H&P done if one not done within last 30 days by Hospital, Department of Correction or clients Primary MD or unable to obtain records within 72hrs of admission
    • Collet data from client for Comprehensive Assessment in Chemical Use, Dem 1, 2, & 3, then notify LPN or RN manager to review so they can write clients admit note
    • Complete the following forms:
      • Pharmacy Admission Face Sheet
      • Release of Information and request records that pertain to nursing needs for client
      • Filling out Narcotic Chain of Custody Forms
      • Preparing Clients Medication Administration Record (MAR)
