As a yard manager, you will work with office, shop mechanics, and drivers to keep operations running smoothly. The yard manager is responsible for the overall management of the yard. This includes both management of the property and day to day operations involving freight and equipment.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: oversee equipment, maintain inventory, loading and unloading using forklift, secure loads, etc

Basic Qualifications

· Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in timely manner

· Ability to work outdoors in a variety of conditions

· Must be flexible for daily overtime and varying schedules as needed

· Must have a valid driver’s license

· CDL preferred (but not required)

· Forklift training preferred

· Ability to:

· Stand and/or walk throughout a minimum eight-hour shift

· Lift and move items exceeding 50 lbs

· Regularly bend, lift, stretch and reach below the waist and above the head

· Climb in and out of the spotter truck numerous times per day, hooking and unhooking trailers

· Pass a fork lift certification

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have at least one year commercial driving experience in a vehicle of similar size, weight, and controls as a tractor and proficiency in backing trailers; demonstrate strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills; good communication with diverse audiences; ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment; and a commitment to building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors; hold an existing Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A) or be willing to train to get their CDL A. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
