Veterinary Technician, Northern Utah- Beautiful area, close to city life, mountains, and lakes.
Well established, growing small animal practice in Ogden, Utah, surrounded by the beautiful Wasatch Mountains is seeking a full-time veterinary technicians. Millcreek Animal Hospital is privately owned, and we pride ourselves on providing customized, quality pet care to fit the individual need of every single patient. We have a fabulous team that really work well together and believe that healthy pets are happy pets.
Our new team member will be expected to complete a variety of tasks daily including, but not limited to; surgery prep and monitoring, including IV catheter placement, venipuncture, intubation and use of Doppler blood pressure monitoring and digital dental radiographs, discussions about preventative wellness medicine with our clients as well as routine history gathering for both sick and well rooms.
Our team meets every week to discuss the previous week as well as go over new ideas to help the practice to grow. We are seeking someone who can learn and excel in multiple positions of the hospital and who will seek to help the veterinary hospital succeed. Veterinary Technician experience is required. All levels of experience are considered and compensation will be appropriate with experience, skills, knowledge and education. Computer skills are a requirement.

Applicants must be available to work on any days and varied shifts. Must be available to work late when needed. WE STAY UNTIL THE WORK IS DONE. Weekends are required.
The ideal person for this job would be a team player, personable, professional, upbeat and energetic. Should be self-motivated, a quick thinker, able to multi-task efficiently, and have excellent communication skills and compassion.
Work requires continual attention to detail. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for long periods of time while performing work requiring concentration and manual dexterity. Lifting (max. 50 lbs) and handling animals of varying sizes and species, bending, stooping and waling on a daily basis.
*Technician Responsibilities include but not limited to*:
· Obtain patient history
· Patient Physical exams and TPRs
· Venipuncture
· Placing intravenous catheters
· Perform radiographs
· Patient care including diagnostics, procedures and treatments
· Prepping patients for surgery
· Anesthesia monitoring
· Prepare prescriptions and communicate discharge orders to clients
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
