The Role

The Vice President Market Data Services will create, collaborate and deliver on our market data strategy. This role sets the priorities and strategic direction for the organization leading overall market data opportunity assessments, based on a comprehensive review of industry trends. The Vice President will actively collaborate with business partners and engage closely with senior leaders and finance partners in developing innovative solutions or recommendations.

The Vice President will foster a culture of continuous improvement supporting a differentiated market data experience for Fidelity. Specific responsibilities include ownership of advancing efforts to effectively manage overall market data spend, provide consultation on switching opportunities and content evaluations while establishing confidence that spend is rightsized and valid demand is met. The Vice President ensures resources are in place to meet customer needs and service level agreements.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead all aspects of the market data team to deliver and support market data solutions.
  • Drive the overall strategy in effort control overall cost associated with market data while meeting the growing needs of internal business partners.
  • Perform marketplace assessments to inform overall strategy and solutions.
  • Consult directly with business partners, vendors, technology and senior leaders to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans in managing overall market data costs.
  • Partner with the senior team to create and drive the vision mission, goals and values of market data.
  • Collaborate to promote environment of intellectual curiosity, responsive customer service, strategic thinking and innovative approaches to market data challenges.
  • Create and manage consistent approach to strategy creation and alignment across market data products and services.
  • Influence and drive shared goals to meet both business partner and market data needs
  • Accountable for a key talent management process including hiring, on boarding, goal setting, performance reviews and other career development activities for a team.
  • Works to create a climate that values and rewards contributions, drive, initiative, and achievement of results.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and directions with eye toward possible impact on internal strategies.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 15+ year’s industry experience in the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the market data landscape
  • Ability to analyze data from varied sources to create and communicate strategies and trends
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of ownership and accountability for results
  • Strong understanding of change management, organizational strategy and design concepts, specifically through linkages to process, systems and operational improvements
  • Strong organizational understanding and an ability to work with all levels, both within and outside of the organization
  • Works effectively to get results while both leading and participating on teams
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and a demonstrated ability at influencing change

The Team

Consolidated Data Services (CDS) brings together FFIO’s data services teams in order to support our diverse data needs, increase collaboration and advance data solutions. We work closely with Asset Management and other key business partners in facilitating data strategy and governance activities, data management for acquisition, integration, management, customization and distribution of common investment data, and delivering cost effective research and market data solutions supporting the Asset Management investment process.
