Warehouse & Logistics Manager

In this role, you will be in charge of ensuring that warehousing operations are executed in a safe, timely and efficient manner. This is a key position in the PAPI P&P Service, Process Automation Process Industries (PAPI) in Westerville, Ohio. You will be responsible to plan, direct and monitor all activities in the warehouse. Develop and manage warehouse operations to effectively control the receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of products, systems, and services to customers.

Your responsibilities

• Warehouse budget: Proposes and manages the annual warehouse budget. Operates within approved budget
• Manages the warehouse staff activities to optimize resources and determines actions to cost issues as necessary
• Warehouse improvement: Continuously improves warehouse operations using lean practices
• Plans and optimizes warehouse utilization and inventory
• Warehouse operations: Plans and monitors the storage, delivery and dispatch of orders and keeps stock control systems up to date
• Oversees stock control and processes orders
• Health, safety and environment (HSE): Ensures that Group and local health, safety and environmental guidelines and directives are implemented and understood to ensure safety of people and resources
• People leadership and development: Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed
• Guides, motivates, and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies
• Sarbanes - Oxley (SOX): Control Owner for CAR 11946 – Daily Inventory Discrepancy Report (IDR) for 3PL Provider warehouse
• Control Performer for CAR-8596 - Goods Receiving
• Control Performer for CAR-8958 – Physical Inventory and Cycle Counting
• Contact person for all audit inquiries regarding warehouse issues for plants 4190 and 3060
• ISO(International Organization for Standardization): DQC for all warehouse processes and member of Quality Council
• General: Business Process Owner (BPO) of the MM module (Inventory) for PA Division in the USA
• Manage large scale moves of inventory (that is, warehouse moves)
• Troubleshooting of processes and operations
• Code freight bills from emergency courier companies for payment by Williams & Associates; oversee general freight bill coding by Westerville staff
• Collect data and publish the inventory accuracy report monthly for plants 4190 and 3060
• Authorize scrap transactions and oversee large disposals per the ABB TOA (International Organization for Standardization)
• Review and authorize cycle count adjustments per the ABB TOA
• Enter Purchase Orders requisitions to pay vendors for repairs (e.g., Kardex machines) and services
• Serve as trainer for warehouse functions in SAP
• ABB Westerville: Transact Manager and Direct Manager for three shipper/receiver staff
• Back up for staff when short handed or a significant volume spike occurs: RMA (Return Material Authorization) Processing transactions
• Purchase order goods receipts
• Production order goods receipts
• Processing of completed repairs
• Outbound delivery processing (picking/shipping)
• Drop shipment processing
• Goods issues to ERC
• Certified to operate forklifts in Westerville
• Entry of STO requisitions and managing STO processing
• Monitor staged export shipments
• Modify Loading Group, storage location, storage bin or serial number profile on material masters (MM02) in SAP as needed
• Oversee inbound transportation of POP (Preowned Parts) buybacks
• Oversee receiving and shipping functions for the Westerville Paper Projects organization
• Monitor Receiving Hold area
• Monitor the RMA (Return Material Authorization) Processing Area
• Create and print physical inventory documents for scheduled counts each month
• ODW Columbus (ABB Offsite Warehouse in Columbus): Monitor daily Inventory Discrepancy Reports (IDR) for plants 4190 (Parts and Repair) and 3060 (PCP Product and Fulfillment); analyze and resolve or assign necessary resolution activity daily
• Act as liaison between ABB and ODW for warehouse issues
• Expedite receipts and shipments as needed
• Work with IT groups to improve EDI interface or add functions
• Monitor the Frustrated Freight area
• Review requests for access to the SharePoint and provide access as appropriate
• Monitor IDOC flow in SAP (WE02) and assign resolution activities for any problems
• Outbound deliveries and production orders from SAP to Symmetry
• Goods receipts and stock moves from Symmetry to SAP
• Ship confirmation from Symmetry to SAP
• Cycle counting IDOCs from Symmetry to SAP
• Enter STO requisitions and manage STO processing to move material to other facilities or as part of an E&O disposal

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required and minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required
• Maximum travel of 20 Percent including local warehouse visits
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
