About the role
The Warehouse Manager will responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the warehouse. The role needs to efficiently and safely manage people, processes and systems, in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately and productivity targets are met.
Key responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while also maintaining a hazard free work area.
- Always use personal protective equipment as required and/or appropriate.
- Attend all safety training and other safety operating procedures.
- Report near misses, accidents or suspected injuries as well as unsafe conditions and behaviors in a timely manner.
- Complete safety work orders when appropriate.
- Be able to participate in safety initiatives, committees and teams.
- Never take shortcuts or use the improper tools/equipment that could compromise the safety of themselves or others.
- Food safety and quality is Kerry’s priority so it’s important to adhere to all Food Safety/Quality SOP's while also accurately completing required Food Safety & Quality records.
- Oversee the efficient operations and inventory of the plant, outside storage facilities and yard.
- Responsible for organizing the warehouse and the workflow.
- Maintaining inventory based on FIFO and assist in preventing customer service issues.
- Responsible for delivery of KPI’s for warehouse and cost control.
- Assist in timely processing of orders, accuracy of pick-ups, quantity of pick-ups per employee and providing resources for cycle counts.
- Coordinate transportation carriers and performance through the utilization of TMS and ensuring all scheduled shipping and receiving appointments are timely and in support of production and customer requirements.
- Familiarity with OSHA guidelines for forklift use and general warehousing and insure these regulations are in place and enforced.
- Ensuring warehouse operations are appropriately staffed and employees are properly trained and certified to execute their duties.
- Practice GMPS.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience in manufacturing warehouse management.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing warehouse and distribution leadership role.
- Ability to strive for excellence in all areas; focus on effective internal and external customer-supplier relationships.
- Previous work experience within a food manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Knowledge of proper safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and warehouse best practices
- Financial and analytical capabilities to plan budgets, monitor inventory, assess data, and create reports.
