Abbott Ireland Diagnostic Division – Longford:
The Longford facility plays a key role in helping Abbott to meet the increasing global demand for diagnostic testing in areas such as infectious disease, cancer, thyroid, and cardiovascular diseases.

Longford is based in the midlands of Ireland surrounded by water with the River Shannon, Lough Ree and the Royal Canal. It has a vibrant collection of communities with a rich historical background. The County has plenty to offer to both visitors and citizens in sport, culture, literature, amenities, festivals, events, retail and dining.

We currently have a role for a Warehouse Specialist - Weekend Day Shift and this role will involve the following:


Primary Function

Support plant operations to ensure that Customer Service goals regarding Warehousing, Manufacturing and Shipping are achieved in line with AIDD Longford Procedures

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive incoming goods.

  • Check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices.

  • Accurately sort, label, and store goods.

  • Arrange storage to optimize warehouse space.

  • Pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders.

  • Enter data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records.

  • Retrieve stored information to respond to enquiries (for example on inventory levels or delivery schedules.).

  • Perform other routine clerical activities according to the organization’s established procedures.

  • These activities may include answering telephones, updating stock cards and inventory records, and completing receipt, transfer, delivery, and dispatch forms.

  • Operate forklifts or other warehouse machinery.

Education

  • The following level of education provides a necessary foundation for this Job function:

  • Minimum Leaving Certificate or equivalent is required, as this foundation will provide a high level of documentation, attention to detail and disciplined approach to work.

Background

The following experience provides a necessary foundation for this Job function

  • Experience in a Diagnostic / Health Care Manufacturing and / or Warehouse Environment is preferred but not essential. Previous experience would provide the foundation for the disciplines required for working as a Warehouse Specialist.
