Overview
SBM Management is searching for a Waste Sorter for our facility. The Waste Sorter will sort general Municipal Solid Waste (trash and recycling) generated at client facility and categorize by material type. Collection, hauling and processing of pre-sorted waste and disposal of post sorted waste into dumpsters or compactors.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and Toolworks’ policies.
- Inspect materials and sort items or materials into designated areas of recycling, compost and trash.
- Perform cleaning duties and general housekeeping related to the work site.
- Report system problems immediately to job coach or supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
- Dump boxes and containers of material into designated area(s).
- Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 6 months – 1 year in a company environment and/or training
- H.S. diploma or GED or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Clean driving record required
- A pre-employment background screening and drug test will be required
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification a plus
- May be required to possess a valid driver’s license
- Complete all safety and task training certification
- May be required to become forklift certified
- May be required to have hazardous waste handler training per RCRA
Available Shift: 4:00pm - 12:00am
Compensation: Compensation for this position is $23.80 per hour.
