RYE Venue Management is a wedding and events venue management company currently operating multiple wedding and event venues in the West Michigan area. We are looking to expand our team with a Wedding and Event Planner who will be in charge of working with clients to plan their venue needs as well as over see the Wedding and Event Coordination service. This is an opportunity to join a growing company and work in a fun and fast paced environment. This is a full-time year round position with opportunities for advancement.
Role Summary:
- Wedding and Event planner is responsible for the collection and communication of event details to the execution staff. Working with clients to help bring their event vision to life and ensure client satisfaction throughout the planning/execution process. Some planning of in house events may be included.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of event coordinating/planning experience
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays
- Proficient use of Google drive and Google documents
- Experience in a professional office setting
- Knowledge of CRM systems or planning systems
- Knowledge of how to create and manage floor plans, timelines and more
Responsibilities may include:
- Meeting with clients
- Gathering and organizing event details into manageable forms for the team
- Communicating with clients to assist in planning their event
- Being present at weddings to assist client and banquet team in executing each event
- Client file management and detail management
- Coordinating with managers during weekly meetings
- Online research of event industry practices, products, ideas, etc.
- Oversee day of coordination program and possibly plan in house events
- other duties as assinged
Work Environment:
- This role operates in a professional office and event venue setting.
Physical Demands:
- The physical demands described above as well as here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- This role would require the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position 40+ hours per week.
- Days and hours of work are typically Monday-Friday. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during “core” work hours. Some weekends may be required.
