Our company is seeking an experienced and professional Disc Jockey to create a fun and energetic environment for our couples. The ideal candidate will possess an outgoing personality, an ability to read the crowd, and the ability to handle stressful situations. The Disc Jockey's responsibilities include playing requests and taking song requests, making announcements on the microphone, and moving around the venue (without being a nuisance!) while playing music. This is a great opportunity for a highly skilled Disc Jockey who enjoys interacting with customers and wants to make a positive impact on our events.

Responsibilities:

• Make announcements and play the music requested by the client to create a suitable atmosphere for the event.
• Be familiar with event planning techniques and procedures.
• Have good interpersonal and communication skills to establish good relationships with couples.
• Knowledge of current popular music songs and bands.
• Knowledge of technical equipment such as sound systems, microphones, and speakers.
• Must be familiar with the DJ Intelligence website.
• Communicate with couples in the weeks leading up to their event and complete all pre-event DJ tasks.
• Prepare a playlist for each couple’s event, using the DJ Intelligence website for a list of the couple’s preferred songs and styles.
• Set up equipment (speakers, microphones, soundboard, lights) for ceremonies, both indoor and outdoor (if required), and receptions.
• Assist officiants, family, bridal party members, and couples with using the microphone for the ceremony, toasts, and speeches.
• Play music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing using the couple’s preferences and guest requests.
• Make announcements for the couple or event staff as needed throughout the event, confirming the pronunciation of names and any pertinent details.
• Maintain awareness of the event timeline and work with Event Manager to coordinate the timing of important event milestones, such as asking guests to be seated, the grand march, and the first dances.
• Maintain awareness of the crowd’s response to music selections and adjust as necessary to create a full and lively dance floor.
• Take down equipment at the conclusion of each event.
• Other duties as required.

• MINIMUM Two Speakers + amplifier if necessary
• Speaker stands
• Speaker cases
• Mixer
• Controller
• Two standard microphones and one WIRELESS microphone
• Lavalier/Lapel mic
• MINIMUM 10 uplights
• Light stands
• Headphones
• Cables – power strip with adequate outlets, extension cords, laptop power cords, mixer power cords, ¼ inch cables. Solid black cords are much preferred. USB cords, RCA cables, Speaker power cords, XLR cable
• Adapters for all cables
• Tablecloth and DJ Facade

Last but not least - an audio or video sample of your work. If you don't provide this, your application will not be looked at.
