We would like to invite applications for the following full-time, permanent post;
Youth Service Support Officer
Clontarf
The purpose of this role is to coordinate the operation and development of person-centred services for young adults with disabilities attending IWA services in Clontarf and North Dublin region, in line with IWA service standards. The person will work and liaise with young adult support staff in coordinating out-of- hours services, projects, 1-1member support and developmental work. Key relationships within IWA will include young adult service users, Rehabilitative Training and School Leaver Service Coordinators and staff teams. The person will also develop relationships with relevant external voluntary and statutory organisations and businesses to further the goals of the service and individual service users.
Training, Experience and Qualifications
Qualification, e.g., degree, in Youth Community Work, Social Care, Occupational Therapy or other related qualification
Experience of working with young adults in a youth work or community setting
Experience of delivering services to people with physical or other disabilities is an advantage
Experience of working closely with young people to create real quality of life gains
Supervisory skills and/or qualifications are desirable (e.g., QQI Level 6 in Supervisory Management)
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to make operational decisions and possess good problem-solving skills is essential
Experience of designing and facilitating youth programmes and activities is desirable
Awareness and understanding of the needs of people with physical and sensory disabilities is desirable
Leadership experience is desirable
Excellent computer and administration skills (Microsoft Office Database Management) are essential
Experience of Quality systems and maintenance of same an advantage
Full driving license is essential
