Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer Required

MDE are currently seeking to recruit Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer on a contract basis., based in various locations on the island of Ireland.

The job of an Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer involves the inspection and testing of commercial and industrial electrical installations to ensure compliance with BS7671.

The Test Engineer will ensure that a professional service is delivered in a safe and timely manner. The majority of time, this will be achieved in normal working hours but there will be occasions when there is a requirement to work out of hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Undertake fixed wiring inspection & testing of electrical installation and the completion of appropriate test certification.
• Have a QC Number.
• Producing accurate reports and certificates to Safe Electric standards.
• Carrying out electrical periodic inspection and testing work.
• Manage the co-ordination of minor remedial works, if required.
• Read, understand, and scrutinise test documentation, programmes, and drawings.
• Work to given specifications, programmes, and drawings.
• Experience of working on commercial and industrial projects.
• Comfortable working within a team and the ability to work under their own initiative.
• Good communication and reporting.

CANDIDATE CRITERIA

The person to be considered for this role applicants need to have the following experience and qualifications:

• 18th Edition qualification.
• Must have a recognised electrical qualification.
• Proven ability to work in a safe manner in accordance with company policies and safety legislation.
• In addition, candidates must have the dedication to keep up to date with current legislation and undertake any training as required.
• Must have a full Driving Licence.
• Must have at least 2 years’ experience testing.
• Safepass / CSR Card or equitant

• Harness Training
• Manual Handling
• SparkSafe Registered
