About The Position

This position is responsible for representing the Business as the product owner of an Agile team of co- workers and/or consultants in designing and delivering new products and features that enhance the digital interactions and experiences of our customers or co-workers. The role is responsible for creating the vision for the team, prioritizing work to achieve the vision while maximizing the value of the products and features delivered. The role is to continuously improve our systems to support better business decisions, drive efficiency, and integrate mobility into the field workforce. Initially, this position will be split between local Missouri Gas field work and a home office.

St. Louis, Hybrid, or Remote _ Key responsibilities include:_

  • Sets the vision, roadmap (both short and long term), and release plan for new products and features for gas business
  • Works with other WAM Managers/Agile Product Owners to coordinate vision, roadmap, and releases across various lines of business (e.g., substation/relay, electric)
  • Manages the delivery of business value and outcomes by owning and prioritizing the team backlog, defining stories, acceptance criteria and driving the team to release products and features iteratively through sprints
  • Develops business cases that accurately represent the investment and benefits of the features to be developed or enhanced
  • Identifies the measures of success and routinely reports status of progress against them
  • Reports the status of projects to leadership
  • Serves as primary liaison and contact point for the team's communication needs
  • Works with training and change management teams to develop best practices around deployment and training.
  • Serves as an advocate and champion for these products and features, presenting at demonstrations, retrospectives and other opportunities to provide progress updates and future plans with stakeholders
  • Manages various individuals such as engineers, supervisors, analysts, and others both directly and indirectly.
  • Develops robust gas work and asset management (WAM) user group to gather functional requirements and corresponding business value, acts as change champions, be super users to various departments/areas, and assist with testing
  • Evaluates and leverages data to gain a comprehensive understanding of needs to ensure the products and features provide value to customers and co-workers
  • Collaborates with user interface/user experience and developer resources, as well as the rest of the agile team and other Ameren teams, to ensure successful delivery in accordance with timeline and budget

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college is required, master's degree preferred. A minimum of seven years of operational/engineering/agile experience required.

Gas experience is preferred.
Certification as a Scrum Product Owner and PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner is required or must be obtained within 12-months of employment in this role.
Operational/engineering supervisory experience preferred. Experience in supervising both professional and union workers is preferred. One or more years of direct experience working as key member of a team enhancing business or customer processes and solutions (e.g., business analyst, product owner, technical lead, etc.) preferred. Scaled Agile experience preferred.

CSS, Click, Epoch); Basic knowledge of budgeting system; and the following Ameren competencies:
