Job Overview

AMETEK Programmable Power is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our growing team. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will provide expertise and supervision to staff in Accounts Payable ensuring accurate and timely reporting and payment of vendor invoices while optimizing accounting operations.


Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Supervise team of 2-3 employees, hire, and manage performance of team.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the AP team on complex invoice issues and escalating items.
  • Primary contact for vendors on all AP matters.
  • Prepare weekly check runs and reconciles monthly activity with corporate records.
  • Resolve vendor discrepancies, including lost checks, misapplied payments, etc.
  • Manage un-invoiced receipts by:
    • Lead bi-weekly AP/Purchasing team call to identify pervasive issues.
    • Obtain vendor statements and reconcile to vouched/unvouchered balances.
    • Identify process issues that results in invalid payables.
    • Action invalid payables.
  • Investigate and resolve outstanding debit memos and credit memos.
  • Perform new vendor set-up including bank call back verifications.
  • Record month-end accrual journal entries.
  • Maintain both physical and electronics file for AP department.
  • Assign and oversee posting/vouching invoices with India AP team including weekly touch base call.
  • Prepare annual 1099 filings.
  • Assist Accounting Manager with streamlining processes and documentation of policies and procedures.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • 3+ years of experience in related field.
  • Experience in Accounts Payable function in manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience with large ERP systems, Oracle preferred.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, proficiency in Excel required.

Education Requirements

  • Associates degree
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting or Finance

  • Experience in manufacturing industry

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
  • Ocassional calls will occur with other offices in different time zones.

Minimum Salary: $70,000

Maximum Salary: $90,000
