This role is responsible for supporting the financial function for a group of seven machine tool distribution businesses.This role works closely with company Presidents on financial and operational matters.

Essential Functions:

  • Hands on approach with all financial requirements, including Month End Close, P&L Variance Analysis, Balance Sheet Reviews/Reconciliations, Inventory Reconciliations & Cost Adjustments, Revenue Recognition and Analysis, Timely and Accurate Preparation of Month end Financial Reporting and Executive Summaries
  • Assisting with mid-month forecasting and month end flash reporting
  • Leading all aspects of the general ledger for 7 divisions
  • Inventory management and oversight
  • Analyzing and reporting cost variances
  • Oversight of sales tax reporting and commission statement preparation
  • Customer deposits reconciliation oversight
  • Handling sales tax audits
  • Assisting with annual external audit and tax return data gathering
  • Daily supervision of general ledger accounting staff
  • Assisting with transition to new ERP system
  • Maintenance of internal and external relationships (Customers/Vendors/Executive Team/Service/Sales)
  • Must have the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Strong individual with the leadership skills required to develop the department and lead it to the next level in line with company goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience in Related Field, Skills, etc.):

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the accounting field.
  • Must have strong skills in all aspects of accounting (General Ledger, Inventory, Cost Accounting, Cash Flow and the Revenue Cycle, AR, and AP)
  • Supervisory experience a plus
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibits’ sound and accurate judgment.
