Job Description

Responsibilities: Will teach four sections each fall and spring semester. Courses include first-year composition, sophomore literature as well as upper-division undergraduate and graduate level courses in Early Colonial through 19th Century US Literature and in Cultural Studies. Will remain active in research, professional development, and service to the university and profession. The position also requires active participation in recruitment activities for the undergraduate and graduate programs.

This position will begin Fall 2023

Qualifications :
Aptitude in general education teaching, including first-year composition and sophomore literature;

Experience with online /hybrid and traditional face-to-face teaching;

Ability to teach Early Colonial-19th Century US American Literature at the undergraduate and graduate levels;

Ability to teach Cultural Studies at the graduate level;

Preferred qualifications:
Include research and/or teaching experience in multi-ethnic literatures, minority voices, gender and sexuality, and/or Transatlantic or Transpacific literary connections during Early Colonial through 19th Century. Secondary qualifications sought in Creative Writing teaching experience.

Minimum Requirements:
Completed Ph.D. in English with specialization in Early Colonial-19th Century American Literature of the U.S. by time of appointment.
