Vista Global Solutions (VGS) is looking for a qualified Audio/Visual (AV) and Communication Systems person to support our contract at Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC), located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in Fayetteville, NC.

Job description
We’re seeking an Audio/Visual (AV) and Communication Systems Specialist with a working knowledge of the current operations and other software being utilized at the Defense Health Agency (DHA) or Government offices, to provide day-to-day management and support of the WAMC desktop computing environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Manage the Video Distribution System for staff and patient education and entertainment, throughout WAMC.
  • Maintain and manage cable television (CATV) distribution network to include but not limited to maintaining proper RF levels out of head-ends, ensuring proper maintenance of end-user televisions, maintaining distribution network maps, managing, and updating the drops database, and managing distant learning signals for hospital staff.
  • Maintain and manage AV equipment setup and configurations and scheduling for over 120 WAMC conference rooms and classrooms located throughout the WAMC campus. Support equipment may include any part of, or all of, the following: projectors, monitors, workstations, Matrix Switch, video cassette recorders (VCRs), Document Camera, 35mm Projectors, Cassette Deck, wireless and wired microphones, Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, Laser Pointers, Flags, Screen, Control System with touch panels, Mixers, amps, Equalizer, uninterrupted power supply (UPS), Lighting, VTC, Digital Audio Recordings, Digital Video recordings and miscellaneous removal AV media(s).
  • Provide support for on and off-site events including conferences, symposiums, change of commands, promotions, and special events.
  • Assist in the designing and engineering of future conference rooms, classrooms and training rooms, and/or review and modify current rooms, by providing conceptual drawings, communicating with the end users to identify needs, and recommend equipment to meet customer and organizational needs.
  • Act as liaison with AV installation contractors and WAMC staff.
  • Maintain and manage low voltage data retrieval systems to include the Nurse Call System, Motorola Trunking System Watch, Motorola Radio Programming System, IRM (In-house and Wide Area pagers) System to include testing in-house pagers daily and maintaining the Alpha Max remote alert system tied into in-house transmitters, the CCMIS Monitoring System, the Bugle Call System, and the Dictaphone "Freedom" Phone Line Monitoring System. This task includes but is not limited to data backup and integrity, system functionality and integrity maintaining UPS backup systems for each system, and ensure systems meet DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) standards outlined by WAMC IA are in place and monitored.
  • Provide support accountability of all property book inventories to include inventory and database updates.
  • Assist as the backup to the WAMC VTC Facilitator to include VTC scheduling, equipment set up, troubleshooting, and testing.
  • Operate VTC equipment and schedule/facilitate conferences.
  • Routinely “test and monitor” equipment performance immediately reporting all equipment malfunctions in writing to the Services Chief.
  • Maintain expertise in the use of VTC equipment/procedures including: the operation of point-to-point and multi-point video teleconferencing equipment, the operation of digital and analog record/playback/dubbing equipment, the operation of computer-generated graphics equipment and programs, the operation of 35mm slide projectors, the operation of hard copy digital document camera equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • At least 3 years of Audio Visual (AV) and Communication Systems Support experience
  • In-depth working experience with a variety of audio/visual equipment and software, troubleshooting the various elements of an audio/visual system, room design for new, or improvements to existing, audio/visual systems, and installation for those systems.
  • Working experience with telecommunication systems administration.
  • Experience with computer operations, the current MS Office Suite applications, and desktop VTC applications, capabilities, networks, policies and network protocols required to plan, schedule and conduct video teleconferencing services.
  • Able to adapt to changing work efforts, manage impact of shifting priorities, and resolve technical emergencies as they may occur.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
Related experience and/or education:
Candidates MUST have U.S. citizenship or the ability to obtain citizenship and be able to pass a government background investigation.
