Banquet Supervisor (Dining Services)
Status: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: Shift Varies (must be available to rotate between two shifts: 8 AM – 5 PM or 10 AM – 7 PM), Weekends as Needed
Location: Hilton Head Island, SC
Start Date: October 2022
Pay Rate: $17 - $18 / hour, DOE
Our client is seeking a Banquet Supervisor to join their resort banquet management team. You will work on a beautiful resort located on Hilton Head Island. You will contribute to the success of the resort by coordinating and supervising the setup and breakdown of all catering, banquet, and event functions as well as managing the staff schedule and prioritizing the comfort and safety of our guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Ensure guests' event requirements and specs are adhered to and that functions run smoothly & efficiently.
  • When interacting with each guest, leave them with a "WOW" story to tell about their experience.
  • Regularly review upcoming event function sheets (BEO's) and have a thorough understanding of all requirements for upcoming scheduled events.
  • Assist in training and supervising special events/catering staff.
  • Champion the set-up, execution, and breakdown of all events and functions.
  • Continually strive to empower your staff to resolve issues and go above and beyond for our guests.
  • Provide special events staff with a copy of each function sheet to gain a thorough understanding of event specifications prior to the function.
  • Requisition or obtain equipment and supplies needed for each event, ensuring that they meet customer expectations and requirements.
  • Complete and fill pull sheets related to beverage orders and banquet equipment.
  • Inspect the event room prior to the start of each function - check room setup, menu, service staff, etc. conforms to the function sheet.
  • Ensure that all the details as per the functions sheet (BEO) are performed.
  • Direct and supervise breakdown and clean up after the event. Account for all equipment and supplies and ensures their return to storage areas. Return or arrange for the return of rented materials.
  • Load and unload banquet vehicles at the event venue.
  • Plan ahead to ensure the next day's event spaces are set correctly for the next event.
  • Supervise in other food and banquet outlets as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum three years of front-of-the-house restaurant experience and/or banquet/event positions in a supervisory position preferred.
  • Weekend, evening, and holiday work is required.
  • State-issued driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
