Business Analyst
Job description
THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
The Business Analyst 1’s primary role is to contribute to organizational improvement by gathering and analyzing data, prepare reporting, and introducing process improvements. The ideal candidate should have a keen ability to determine specifications and standards for business reporting and maintaining data integrity. This position will have a focus on the creation and maintenance of relational databases. This position will report to the Manager of Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Database Management:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation, support, and maintenance of the business systems and their associated databases.
- Integration of ETL processes into the database.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and correct system related issues/areas of improvement.
- Create thorough documentation for all databases and queries.
- Will work directly with the Operations team to provide them required data and reporting.
Validate Data/General Data Handling:
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and structure large data sets to find usable information.
- Creation and documentation of ETL processes for new data sets.
- Review and cleanse unstandardized client data to maintain internal data integrity standards, including validity, accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Regular bulk uploads to create and manage data files and databases.
- Manual data entry to resolve issues or make updates.
General Reporting:
- Ability to create complex reporting and dashboards for clients in a manner that is visually appealing and easy to understand.
- Day to day management of excel reporting and analysis for various projects.
- Use cleaned data to create reports and analyses for internal teams and external clients that are well documented and easy to comprehend.
- Assist other teams as needed in writing SQL queries to creating reporting.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Other Duties:
- Assist other teams as needed in preparing or cleaning data or testing data in internal systems.
- As assigned, complete general data analysis duties as needed for specified clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or greater preferred. Computer science, analytics, math, economics, or similar field.
- Advanced critical thinking skills.
- 2-5 years experience in SQL and working within a relational database
- Advanced Excel knowledge including Macros, pivot tables, x & v-lookup, and DAX functions.
- Strong ability to analyze, problem solve, and interpret data.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
