  • AAS Degree in Administration/Child Development or Closely related field
  • Three (3) Years’ Experience in child care setting
  • Related Management and Supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills

Responsibilities/Duties

Responsible for the overall operations of assigned Head Start centers and maintain all center activities. Motivate, guide and direct the Head Start staff at the center level in a manner that supports the philosophy and the policies of Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. Builds nurturing relationships with families to support family engagement and participation in classrooms. Supervises center activities and operations; Inspects center for health, safety, and fire compliance daily

Conditions of Employment– Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3)

Position will require record check approval of driving record by LCHS Insurance Provider, as this position is considered a designated position requiring driving as an essential job function.

Location, Hours & Salary
Assigned Head Start centers within Luzerne County service area;
Full Time/ Part Year-10 months, works a school schedule Aug-June annually with an established summer break
FT, 37.5 hrs/wk
Exempt/Salaried position: $34,141/year
