Salary:
Appointment will be made on the Clerical Officer scale (€26,613 - €43,248) at a point in line with Government pay policy.
Hours of work:
Full-Time, 35 hours per week

Position Summary:
To provide an efficient and effective service for arrival & registration of patient to the department.
Responsibilities:
KEY TASKS :
  • Checking in of all patients for CT Patients
  • Escorting CT Patients to Mobile scanning Unit
  • Confirming CT patients on a daily basis for mobile Unit.
  • Cancellation of all DNA appointments, printing and posting of DNA notification to referring clinician daily.
  • Checking Query Fracture patients for ED Department and escorting to ED Department
  • Making routine C.T appointments .
  • Scanning of any necessary documentation and printing of relevant documentation to notify radiographers of arrival of patient.
  • Registration of GP / External patients on BHIS and creation of relevant episode number.
  • Maintaining the integrity of master patient index thereby minimising duplication.
  • Ensuring biographic and financial class data is accurately collected and entered onto the BHIS and RIS.
  • Any other duties, as assigned by Team Leader / Grade V / Grade VI in the department.

Qualifications:
Mandatory:
Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc
(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Obtained at least grade D (or pass) in Higher or Ordinary Level in five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education established Leaving Certificate Examination or Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme or Leaving Certificate Applied.
Or
(ii) Passed an examination of at least equivalent standard
Or
(iii) Satisfactory relevant experience which encompasses demonstrable equivalent skills
And
(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and administrative ability), for the proper discharge of the office.
and
Experience in dealing with the public
Excellent Communication Skills
