O'Melveny is actively seeking for a Client Compliance Analyst in our Los Angeles office. This position will allow for remote work flexibility. This position is responsible for ensuring the client’s billing aligns with their Outside Counsel Guidelines. This will involve coordination with the client, attorneys, and staff to develop best practices, analyze client budgets, and track performance of the matters. The Legal Billing Compliance Analyst should have knowledge of legal terms and processes to effectively manage the client’s billing.

The salary range in CA for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reviews Outside Counsel Guidelines and prepares a summary that is distributed to all timekeepers working for the client.
• Trains timekeepers to adhere to the guidelines, which includes a review of proper narrative etiquette, expense allowances, and proper task and activity code usage.
• Customizes and coordinates best practice procedures to ensure a smooth billing process for the partners and clients.
• Prepares reports and analyses as requested.
• Reviews inventory regularly to abide by billing deadlines to minimize the billing and collections cycle.
• Acts as liaison between clients, partners and assistants when issues arise that require follow-up to address client’s needs and provide resolution.
• Coordinates the efforts of internal staff, vendor staff and client’s designated personnel.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
