TITLE: Clinical Operations Assistant

REPORTS TO: CLINICAL ADMINISTRATOR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Is a LPN / LVN in the state of practice.

2. Has at least three years of home health experience.

3. Professional computer skills.

4. Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.

5. Is self-directed and has excellent observation and communication skills.

6. Demonstrates an ability to supervise and direct professional and clinical personnel.

7. Has an ability to deal tactfully and professionally with the community.

8. Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health.

9. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements and is in good working order.

10. Demonstrates flexibility and cooperation in fulfilling all obligations.

11. Has satisfactory references from current employers and/or professional peers.

12. Highly attentive to detail and accuracy.

13. Positive attitude.

14. Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individual ages of those served, primarily the geriatric population.

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. The Clinical Operations Assistant ensures quality and safe delivery of home care services; coordinates provision of home care services that reflect the Agency’s philosophy, vision, mission and standards of care; plans, develops, implements, and evaluates Agency services, programs, and activities. Will collaborate with branch Directors of Nursing (DON) and Regional Director of Nursing to ensure that all branch operations and care/services delivered by staff and contract disciplines meet the patient’s needs and are compliant with Agency Policies, State and Federal Laws and Regulations. The Clinical Operations Assistant is expected to lead with excellence to promote quality care, quality documentation, growth, and financial viability throughout the agency.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. Assist in the supervision of all clinical staff.

2. Communicates, as appropriate, with staff, physicians, referral sources and clients/potential clients.

3. Ensures the provision of services required for financial regulation and reimbursement of care completed on a timely basis and in compliance with state and federal regulations.

4. Supervises ancillary personnel and delegates responsibilities when required.

5. Actively participates in business development and growth of the agency.

6. Oversee clinical side of claims and coordinate with Directors of Nursing, Regional Directors, Billers, Billing Supervisors, Admission Coordinators, Regional Admission Coordinators, Face to Face Coordinators and any other parties necessary to assist local branch in obtaining any items needed to release claims for billing.

7. Conducts record reviews and communicates findings and recommendations to the appropriate agency personnel.

8. Assists in referral intake process as needed.

9. Coordinates with the Clinical Administrator for efficient and effective branch operations.

10. Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of agency and clinical personnel.

11. Stays informed about changes in the field of nursing and home health care and shares information with appropriate personnel.

12. Promotes home health referrals in the health care community. Works with other agencies and promotes good community relations by involvement in community events.

13. Demonstrates understanding of the Agency’s mission, vision, philosophy, and standards of care.


CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Must meet the required continuing education hours for state certification as a nurse in Texas as applicable. Agency personnel are expected to participate in appropriate continuing education as may be requested and/or required by their immediate supervisor. In addition, agency personnel are expected to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job related skills and abilities. All agency personnel must attend mandatory educational programs.
