Role Overview
The Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing delivery of Planet’s cloud platform strategy.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud computing and technology systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are a must have for this position.
What you’ll be doing
- Strategic role in maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management networks.
- Key role in designing and migrating on-prem applications to the cloud.
- Participate on the development of cloud architecture and adoption plans, and associated roadmaps which should be aligned to the business, product and technology objectives
Who you are
- 8+ Years’ experience designing, implementing and supporting cloud platforms – Preferably with AWS, Azure or GCP certification
- Strong knowledge of on-prem and cloud platforms – specifically Infrastructure, Network, Security and Database solutions
- Proven experience delivering solutions using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD in an environment that leverages DevOps/SRE frameworks to optimize support and delivery.
- Experience working in Software Development / Payments industry is desirable
- Experience transforming legacy on-prem services and migrating to cloud providers
- Strong commitment to delivering high quality design and delivery plans
- Effective communication skills – both written and verbal
