Titan Roofing is hiring a Safety Coordinator to help us minimize the risk of job-related accidents in our Syracuse office.
This position will include but will not be limited to daily safety audits, development of site-specific safety plans, job hazard analysis plans, weekly safety meetings, training, OSHA compliance/inspections, incident reports, purchasing safety related equipment, and working with both general contractors and subcontractors to ensure Titan Roofing, Inc. compliance with site specific safety programs.
The ideal candidate is a highly adaptable team player, capable of critical thinking, and highly motivated. Positive attitude, commitment to personal growth, and strong work ethic are vital to achieving success in this role. This full-time position will primarily work weekdays from 6AM to 4PM; project schedules may require occasional flexibility and weekend work. Competitive salary and benefit package.
Requirements:
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or in a safety related field
- Employee must have a valid driver license and be able to cover NY job locations.
- Good oral and written communication skills; ability to speak in front of large groups at times
- Ensure company is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Employee must have extensive knowledge and experience relating to accident investigation
- Employee must be able to give new hire orientations to all perspective employees
- Ability to approach field workers to coach and correct unsafe behaviors/actions
- Employee expected to have experience overseeing elevated work, demolition, electrical work, lifting and handling, lockout/tagout, material handling, hazardous materials (PCB’s asbestos, lead, silica), fire protection, confined space entry, and hazard communication
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere
- Employee must be comfortable training employees in small-large group settings
- Candidate must have good organization skills
- Candidate must possess problem solving skills and be self-motivated
- Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Procore Preferred)
- Certifications including OSHA 10/30 Construction required: OSHA 500 preferred
