The Sustainability Data and Materials Manager will implement sustainability projects ranging across sustainable packaging, materials, data collection and analysis, and key program management such as our engagement with Sustainable Apparel Coalition and the Higg Suite of tools for standardized measurement. This role will report to the Director, Sustainability Transformation as part of the broader Sustainability and ESG team. This person will contribute to the future of our Crocs and HEYDUDE sustainability efforts while gaining exposure to many facets of corporate sustainability and ESG.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead and implement sophisticated and innovative sustainable packaging and material projects spanning functions and brands
- Drive diligence in scaling and implementing identified solutions, and timely completion of projects from idea to fruition
- Responsible for exploration of alternative materials, suppliers, leading sustainable packaging transition across the enterprise
- Responsible for supporting sustainable materials exploration and implementation
- Bring outside-in packaging leadership by supervising policy, compliance and emerging trends and regulations globally related to packaging design and disposal.
- Support key partnerships in the packaging space which may include non-profit partners and current or potential vendors
- Proactively research innovative approaches, technologies, processes, materials, and partnerships to drive innovation within sustainability
- Support standard processes in reporting and data management enabling reporting and auditing of lead indicators
- Maintain overall sustainability dashboards and results across the function
- Support Business Case development for key sustainability projects and initiatives
- Supports the integration of tools relevant to data management
- Lead Crocs' Higg program, including roll out of Brand/Retailer Module (BRM), Facilities Environmental Module (FEM) and Facilities Social and Labor Modules (FSLM) completing all "data in" responsibilities and leading "insights out" efforts to support improvement plans and strategic integration
- Lead Product LCA calculations using Higg Product Module and MSI
- Establish strong collaborative relationships locally and globally across the company to drive impact, awareness, and adoption of sustainability initiatives
- Promote a culture of sustainability within the organization
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
- 3+ years of dynamic work experience within sustainability tied to product development, product management, data analysis or business solutions
- Experience in corporate sustainability and consumer products strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently under minimal guidance on several projects simultaneously while adhering to specific timeframes
- Bold approach – highly adaptable, make decisions, act comfortably with risk and uncertainty, and take charge of their role and results
- Ability to communicate difficult concepts with a focus on simplicity to garner support and consensus from others
- Solution oriented-able to anticipate problems and develop timely solutions
- Sophisticated skill at problem-solving and ability to think critically
- Attention to detail and strong/clear data management
- Strong cross-functional communication skills, able to effectively navigate corporate relationships
- Strong IT skills
- Domestic and international as required by business needs (<10% of the time)
