As a Deputy Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager in leading the Project CoreTeam in the successful delivery of the assigned tasks within a schedule, allocated budgets of high quality. The incumbent will also support in applying/implementing the key Project Management Processes and governances to ensure flawless execution.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for WBS, Detailed Project Schedule, JDDP, Customer Interface, Project Risk, Opportunity and Improvement Management, Project Launch (including the Project Management Plan), Change Management and Contractual Obligation Management, Budget allocation and monitoring, Project Reporting internally both status and financial performance.
- Primary contact to Value Chain Entity Project Management Office.
- Review progress and give directions for project execution of the Project Core Team members.
- Identify and initiate actions to increase team effectiveness, supporting team effectiveness tool kit application by the Project Manager.
- Assist in allocation of work packages between roles and day-to-day delegation of special tasks to the Project Core Team members in order to optimize the total project.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal, verbal communication skills, and problem-solving.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Additional 4 years of related experience may be substituted for the degree.
- 3+ years of Project Management or similar related experience.
- Experience in the transportation industry, specifically in train control is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
