Wood Specialties is looking for a detail-oriented designer/drafter with a strong knowledge in cabinet construction. Experience with a 3D modeling software and/or design/building custom cabinets is a plus.

What We’re Looking For:

Our Designers/Drafters are important members of our team and help bring our designs and the customer’s vision to life through the following responsibilities/characteristics:

· Someone who wants to make this a career

· Desire/interest in the woodworking trade

· Work with a variety of trades to prepare a job

· Integrate designs from 2D architectural drawings into a 3D model environment

· Present design concepts to homeowners

· Ability to work well closely with others and establish lasting connections in a friendly, caring environment

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

· Design or architectural drafting experience

· 3D modeling software experience

· Cabinet design/building experience/knowledge is a plus

· Ability to problem solve and think on your feet

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Knowledge of residential construction is a plus

Position Requirements:

· 1-2 years of experience in AutoCAD

· 1-2 years of experience in SketchUp or other 3D modeling software

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects within deadlines

· Interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team as well as alone

· High School Diploma or equivalent required. College training preferred.

Any lack of proficiencies in certain areas, Wood Specialties will provide training to get you up to speed.
