Job description

Our client, a leader in the real estate development industry, is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join their team in Wilmington! This integral role will partner with leadership and employees to develop collaborative and effective human resources strategies.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree required, continued education preferred
  • PHR or SHRM certification highly preferred
  • Experience in real estate, hospitality, or construction industries preferred
  • 6+ years of human resources experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory duties
  • Impressive and proven knowledge of employee relations, talent development, employee engagement, recruitment, benefits administration, compensation analysis, and workforce planning
  • Creative approach to human resources strategy while still utilizing prior knowledge and building on past experiences
  • Open door policy to encourage employee engagement and trust
  • Well-versed in federal and state regulations
  • Incredible written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to act with grace under pressure when handling complex issues, and act to provide a fair resolution
  • All hands-on deck mentality and team-oriented approach

Day to Day:

  • Partner closely with all organization levels as well as senior leadership to develop and implement company-wide HR strategy and initiatives
  • Work cross functionally between departments to increase visibility of human resources for all employees
  • Develop innovative employee programs to boost employee engagement and performance
  • Assist with benefits and compensation analysis including benchmarking and open enrollment
  • Work closely with hiring manager across business units to develop workforce and succession planning, establish recruiting strategy to attract top talent, and increase retention
  • Assist teams with learning and development by implementing various strategies to improve business
  • Provide employee relations support, including investigations, as needed
  • Act as a trusted and knowledge resource regarding all human resources topics for employees
  • Various projects as needed
