The Engineering Technician is expected to perform complex and precise electro-mechanical assembly and repair work and be able to work independently once a task is assigned, make connections with other employees if/when necessary, and work fluidly with the teams to achieve excellent results. This role typically involves a variety of operations, including troubleshooting and rework, requiring a sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items assembled as well as the finished products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to work from complex and detailed manufacturing documentation, drawings, and/or verbal and written instructions.
  • Have a quick and flexible approach to problem-solving, task juggling, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously, interacting with multiple teams
  • Experience with hand tools and use of semi-automated manufacturing equipment is necessary
  • Be the owner/subject matter expert driving equipment-related process improvement including detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Identify equipment critical spare parts and ensure sufficient coverage to prevent extended downtime situations
  • Provide hands-on support to the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve extended equipment downtime situations

Requirements:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in a relatable engineering field or an AS with 5+ years of practical experience in manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions, and mechanical drawings including electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times and maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • The best candidate for the position has a high aptitude to learn new skillsets in the position.
  • Advanced aptitude using CAD software, engineering documentation software(s), BOMs, and document control systems, and be capable of creating and authoring technical documentation
  • Experience working with and around ESD-sensitive components
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 10%

At SolarEdge, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The pay range for this position in Nevada at the start of employment is expected to be between $30 - $40 per hour. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at SolarEdge. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
