The Role

We are currently looking for a Field Service Automation Technician based in Clifton Park, NY to support the Lifecycle Solutions engineering team.

This role will assist our New York industrial automation installed base customers and project teams in the development, delivery, on-going maintenance, and optimization of our state-of-the-art process control solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Assist the Lifecycle Solutions Lead Engineer with DeltaV distributed control system preventative maintenance activities
• Day-to-day technical support for customer contracts for automation systems. Following triage, demonstrate situational awareness for escalation to senior engineering members or factory support as required.
• Provide timely and thorough communication to customers in both written and oral format.
• Troubleshoot and install Microsoft operating systems
• Assist in the quotation and technical sales support of control system field service solutions
• Provide Dell server and workstation warranty support.
• Perform general computer maintenance, security updates, diagnostics, and data backups of DCS workstations or servers, following Emerson Automation Solutions guidelines.
• Assist with automation network design, installation, and commissioning activities in a Microsoft OS environment, often utilizing HyperV virtualization platforms.
• Work towards completion of the DeltaV Field Service Associate certification, as well as other certifications as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with LifeCycle Solutions team as well as customers.
• As assigned, 24x7 on-call support for customer emergencies under a weekly rotating assignment roster.
• Travel in the New York state territory of 30-50%

What You’ll Bring

• Computer Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Technology, or equivalent Associates Degree Program
• Strong computer hardware troubleshooting and Microsoft OS knowledge.
• Knowledge of Dell computers and server hardware is preferred.
• DCS platform knowledge or troubleshooting experience is preferred.
