Overview

Seeking a Music Teacher who employs a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels in the classroom, prepares motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world around them with a global perspective.

Status of Position

This is a full-time position with Académie Lafayette. This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.

Reporting

The Music Teacher reports to the campus/building principal.

Responsibilities

• Lesson planning and implementation of the Missouri elementary music curriculum within the immersion model
• Participate in subject and grade level curriculum planning
• Classroom management
• Communicate with peers and parents
• Maintain accurate grades, documentation of report cards, and attendance records
• Participate in all mandatory training and professional development, as required
• Engage in school-wide activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music education or a related field
• Hold or be eligible for a Missouri Teaching Certificate in Music K-12 or equivalent in home country.
• Proven experience as a teacher; international candidates requiring a visa must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
• Demonstrates strong classroom management skills.
• Native to near-native level of French
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills necessary for working in a multicultural environment.
• The ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to meet deadlines.
• The ability to integrate technology to augment, modify, and redefine learning tasks.
