McCaren Designs is looking to hire a couple individuals to fill roles within our interior department for an interior horticulturist. We specialize in creating memorable spaces and unique experiences through the creative use of tropical plants in both public and private office spaces. We are looking for a hardworking and reliable individual for either a full and/or part time horticulturists to join our team. The primary responsibility will be watering, cleaning, pruning/trimming, fertilizing and pest control of plant on a route that you will be responsible for. You’ll be caring for plants in a variety of spaces - large trees in atriums, greenwalls, small flowering desk displays, and stationary planters of many sizes. A love of plants, excellent customer service skills, and self-confidence are a must. Associate degree or working knowledge and experience in Horticulture preferred. Knowledge of plants or caring for house plants is strongly desired but not required. This work is very independent but at times you will be working with a team on projects. We have a 4-week training program to get you set on the right foot and from there ongoing training of techniques and proper care for interior plants is provided to the whole team.

This role requires the ability to lift and push at least 20lbs, stand/walk/bend/kneel/twist, and often use of hands/fingers daily. Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time. Occasionally required to work on ledges and ladders of short heights, max of 12-foot ladder. You must be able to drive daily between our clients’ sites, a valid driver’s license (free of DUI) is a required!
