This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.
This role will sit onsite, likely in a hybrid capacity, at the location(s) listed in this posting.
The anticipated term of this engagement will be 11 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.
CW-Info Systems Engineer IV
The Engineering job designs information systems that are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. Under limited supervision, this job is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's operating systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Formulates system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.

  • Evaluates and implements changes to existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.

  • Reviews flow charts, models, and procedures and feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.

  • Reviews technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.

  • Collaborates with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and to determine project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, systems performance standards, and interfaces.

  • Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications and consequences of various proposed system changes.

  • Educates end users on system designs and functionalities through creation of training materials and conducting demos.

  • Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshooting problems.

TIAA, a multinational financial services firm, is looking to hire an experienced F5 and DNS engineer. This role would involve both maintaining our production DNS environment, as well as assist with life-cycle support for the Production DNS infrastructure, perform load balancer and DNS operational duties including local and global load balancing changes, DNS changes, environment troubleshooting, and certificate management. This role is expected to collaborate with boundary partners in other organizations (Application Development, Production Development, IT Operations, Networking Engineering, Security and others) to provide guidance for best practice solutions.
This is a remote role.
Support F5 load balancing and Infoblox DNS in the Network Operations team. Lookup configuration info, advise application owners about application routing across data centers, and general support.
Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot the applications in a load balancer environment and with virtual server builds.
  • Understand and validate standard configurations, SSL certificates, iRules and ltmpolicies.
  • Understand application flows and common application design including authentication and database access.
  • Configure Local Traffic Manager virtual servers, pools, profiles, and ltmpolicies.
  • Troubleshoot settings and policies as they relate to customer configurations.
  • Configure Global Load Balancing wide IPs.
  • Take responsibility for meeting commitments; have a desire to succeed, and deliver solutions by deadline.
  • Build respectful relationships with team members; consistently acknowledge and appreciate each member's contributions.
  • Provide quality customer service; ensure an understanding with the customer and help provide workable solutions.
  • Keep track of lessons learned and share those lessons with team members.
  • Promote innovation, creativity, and effectiveness, always strive for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in problem management and resolution in the support of deployed technology and perform as subject matter expert on high-profile production outages.
  • Work with others to drive network standards, baselines, architecture, and solutions.
  • Collaborate with Network Engineering and Information Security teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or similar experience. Usual candidates have more than 3-5 years of experience. 4 years of additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • F5 Certified Big-IP Administrator certification is preferred
  • Previous experience with F5 global and local load balancing, iRule creation, SSL and persistence profiles
  • Experience with AppviewX, Infoblox, Microsoft DNS, BIND, and Venafi is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of DNS and DNS Infrastructure.
  • Understanding TCP/IP, routing, and application development lifecycle concepts.
  • Excellent application and network troubleshooting skills required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate network concepts and network challenges to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience creating, troubleshooting and supporting multi-site, multi-tiered environments
  • Script development with bash or other scripting languages is preferred
