Job description

The Position: ACOM is looking for an experienced Lead Network Field Engineer. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys working with their hands and is dedicated to doing the job the right way the first time. Network engineering experience is required, but specific skills can be trained if needed. We are looking for someone to become an integral part of our technical team, who will help us provide the best possible security and VoIP services to our customers. Hours are 8:00 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Pay is based on experience, beginning at $28/hour.

Daily responsibilities include:

• Traveling to customer sites in the greater Northern Virginia and Winchester areas to troubleshoot and install systems
• Fiber optic installation
• Interfacing with customers and clients
• Communicate with main office about equipment and manpower needed
• Direct and manage an installation crew at customer sites

Requirements:

• Driver's License
• Experience in installing security systems, e.g. cameras, access control, etc.
• Experience in installing copper and fiberoptic cabling
• Experience in network maintenance and troubleshooting
• Experience managing installation crew
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with general computer systems

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Active Virginia DCJS certification
• Network+ certification or equivalent
• Experience working with VoIP systems

Experience:

• computer networking: 1 year (Preferred)
• crew management: 2 years (Preferred)
• VoIP: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CompTIA Network+ (Preferred)
• Driver's License (Required)
