The Mail Clerk at Albert & Mackenzie will ensure that all mail received is processed timely and in accordance with firm policies.
Primary responsibilities:
- Open all incoming mail on a daily basis, remove staples and date stamp as instructed
- Separate mail into urgent and non-urgent mail following guidelines
- Look in the case management system for dates associated with mail received
- Sort mail by department, location, or category (e.g. bills, notices, personal, human resources)
- Photocopy mail as required
- Scanning of documents
- E-mail appropriate parties when mail is received
- Create a shell for new files in firm's case management system
- Create shipping labels and prepare outgoing packages
- Process outgoing mail through the postage system and bill accordingly
- Data entry
- Filing
- Other tasks as assigned
Skills and Experience:
Candidates must be computer literate, have good reading comprehension skills, be detail-oriented, have the ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks, and exhibit a sense of urgency to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable with performing repetitive tasks.
