Summary
The Town of Otterbein seeks a qualified and motivated individual to serve as the Maintenance Operator, under the direction of the Town Administrator. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the streets/sidewalks, parks, and equipment (including trucks, lawn mowers, and heavy equipment) owned by the Town.

About Otterbein
Otterbein is a small community of 1,144 people ten minutes from Lafayette/West Lafayette and Purdue University. We are a full-service local government managing water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater systems, alongside a wide variety of other programs for our residents.

Duties Overview
Duties include maintaining equipment (including trucks, lawnmowers, pumps, etc.). The selected candidate must be capable of cutting grass, spray and larvicide for mosquitos, replacing street signs, repairing potholes, and other maintenance related duties. The operator will be required to participate in snow removal and water main repair work. The ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees and the public is essential. The operator will also be required to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Qualified Individuals most possess the following:

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver license and maintain insurability under the Town’s insurance policy.
• Experience in grounds or facility maintenance is preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and safe workplace standards.
