At Milk Sugar Love, we make one of top 3 ice creams in the state and have been featured in the New York Times, The Star Ledger, Food Network, Tastemade and Infatuation. We make all our ice cream and baked goods by hand in our kitchen in Jersey City, using only grass-fed, organic milk and cream to create our unique, chef-driven ice cream flavors.

Milk Sugar Love is looking for a Store Manager to oversee retail and production at our busy shop in Hamilton Park Jersey City.

The Manager's duties will involve the following:

  • making a labor budget and advertising for and hiring new employees
  • manage and motivate Counter employees through constant communication and regular team meetings
  • create procedures and strategies to increase sales and decrease waste at Milk Sugar Love
  • review all finished product to make sure it meets Milk Sugar Love quality standards
  • examine procedures and practices which may need cost reduction and/or program improvement
  • oversee opening and closing procedures and processes to ensure up to standards
  • ensure operations are in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards for the Jersey City Health Department
  • manage store financials – cash handling procedures and cost control (P & L) with owner’s direction
  • perform administrative duties including running reports from the POS and all delivery platforms
  • manage inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor scheduling, security, expense control and other operational processes to company standards
  • place all food and paper good orders, receive all orders, pay all open invoices
  • ensure team members provide friendly and efficient service to uphold company customer service standards
  • supervise, train and develop team members in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • evaluate storefront conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement; ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained
  • develop and train all staff on product knowledge and offer assistance on suggested product purchasing
  • oversee all shop and kitchen cleaning, including: walls, floors, display cases, electronics, machinery and work area

The Manager will set the tone for an enjoyable and efficient environment, so a smile and a positive attitude are a must.

The Manager must work 2 opening counter shifts, fill in for any callouts, schedule their own drop ins to further train and evaluate team members and make sure the facility is clean, stocked and organized.

Must be able to stand 8 hours a day and lift 50 pounds.

Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Must reside in Jersey City, NJ.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
