The Network Engineer II role is located in Atlanta, GA, with a hybrid office model.

We seek an experienced Network Engineer II (AWS, Java, and Python) for a Network Planning position who will be responsible for developing tools for measuring, analyzing, and modeling network traffic and topology for the Company Access network. The Network Planning Engineer will identify infrastructure, financial impact, and related performance. This role will ensure data and process quality, clearly communicate strategic and tactical results with numerous stakeholders, and recommend tools and methods to improve collection and distribution of telemetry and topology data processes.

Responsibilities

• Work with product, engineering, construction, and finance teams to create and drive requirements
• Collecting, modeling, and integrating network topology and telemetry data
• Manage infrastructure and platforms needs, financial impact, and related performance and quality.
• Directs cross department impact analyses and validation studies through all stages: concept formulation, definition of metrics, determination of appropriate methodology, research, and final solution as it pertains to the collection, storage, and distribution of network topology and telemetry data
• Provides and conducts trend analysis to support business operations; includes budget modeling
• Develops reports and documentation to clearly and succinctly communicate results
• Develops reports and analysis to verify data and process quality
• Identifies, researches, and resolves discrepancies in data collection, storage, and transformation procedures
• Work with various polling and data modeling teams to identify data needs and build requirements
• Provides recommendations for operational efficiencies and process improvements and assists in policy development to support change initiatives
• Conducts analyses to create actionable insights for project and development teams
• With guidance, presents data and provides recommendations to department leadership for their use in making operational decisions, identifying process improvements, and developing policy development to support change initiatives
• Provides input to leadership on performance issues and operational process improvements
  
  

Qualifications and Requirements

Requirements

• Current US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Reside within a reasonable commuting distance to the North Atlanta Metro area or are willing to relocate at your own expense to fulfill commuting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• 
  1-2 years of experience required in related field (i.e. IT, Engineering, Technical Operations, etc.)
• 1+ years operational experience associated with service delivery platforms
• Analytical expertise analyzing operational performance data and driving process or platform improvements
• Excellent presentation skills; ability to distill and present actionable information from complex research or analysis
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, listening, written, and verbal communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  
  

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

• 
  Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Technology-related field
• 1+ years of operational and capacity planning associated with telemetry and topology platforms.
• Extensive working knowledge in premises networking technologies platforms and managed services
• Proven effective collaboration experience working with Product, Strategy, and Field Services to develop technology roadmaps and deliver project objectives
• Knowledge of Optical Network Engineering
