Orthopedic Technician, Department of Orthopedics
- Position: Orthopedic Technician
- Location: Lincolnshire, IL
- Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, rotating hours between 6:30am - 5:00pm, in addition to rotating Saturdays
- Required Travel: to other medical group offices as needed
- Greet patients and place in exam room
- Perform vital signs
- Perform dressing changes
- Fit required durable medical equipment (DME)
- Cast removal, cast and splint application
- Assistance with casting procedures under fluoroscopy
- Speak with patients over the phone and assist with problems
- Educate patients on care
- Support physician and office activity
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred
- Certification: Current CPR certification required, passing the Registered Orthopaedic Technologist certification test within 12 months of hire date
- Experience: One year of experience in a physician practice setting preferred
- Skills: Evidence of leadership, problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, basic computer skills and clinical competence
